Challenge

The live music industry is expected to grow to $23.7 billion by 2019, according to Eventbrite, but markets are becoming saturated, making it harder to secure prospective festival-goers. Winner of Best New Festival, Best Medium Sized Festival and Best International Festival awardsWe Are FSTVL wanted to cement its success with an online experience as engaging as its events.

Yieldify’s Solution

Yieldify helped We Are FSTVL engage its website visitors at the perfect moment to increase ticket sales, grow confidence and increase customer value. To help We are FSTVL grow its email database, Yieldify ran campaigns targeted at abandoning visitors highlighting a competition to win tickets to the festival.

Group offer campaigns, triggered on entry to the site, drove traffic to the brand’s Eventbrite page (a separate ticketing domain that opens in another tab when clicked so as not to interrupt the user journey).

To re-engage abandoning visitors, Yieldify showed We Are FSTVL’s promotional video to encourage visitors to stay and purchase tickets, split testing the format to ensure the experience was fully optimized. Finally, to inspire urgency to book tickets, a countdown clock was show to visitors exiting the site, indicating when ticket prices would next increase.

Result

Yieldify lead gen campaigns were responsible for +73% of We are FSTVL’s database. Group offers saw a +64% increase in conversions driven by Yieldify activity, while urgency campaigns drove a +82% uplift in conversions.

The use of video content to re-engage abandoning visitors proved a successful tactic. The split test revealed that auto-playing video created greater engagement than click to play, driving a +33% higer click-through rate.

Urgency messaging was also tested, with the countdown clock driving a +82% uplift versus a static overlay.
